I will be storming San Diego Comic-Con 2012 in my old hometown again and want to let you know where I will be, in case you wanna skip the True Blood panel or the D&D strategy session.

Although the preview starts wednesday night, Comic-Con has already been swarmed by people hell- bent on attending events other than mine, which is fine by me. But if you want to check out MY Comic-Con events, here they are:

COUNTER-CON, The Inner City Comics, Animation, and Games Art Panel: Friday at 1pm, I will be trying something brand new, and I will be a panelist at an off-site, brand new convention aimed at the under-served kids in the barrio and the hood, namely Southeast San Diego. Counter-Con will host some  panels featuring several professionals  in animation, TV, comics and more, basically for kids who don’t usually get a chance to attend Comic-Con. CC features founder Jerry Lee Brice and others, meaning me, talking about our careers and tips for aspiring cartoonists and artists of color. CC goes from 1pm-4pm.

SIGNING at UNIVERSAL UCLICK BOOTH: Friday afternoon at 4:30 pm I will be signing here at Booth #1714 with copies of Latino USA and prints available for purchase!

Friday night I’m going to my syndicate’s dinner, and chewing the fat with the home team. Sorry, no wookies allowed.

THE ROOTS FACTORY: Saturday at 6pm I will be at performing my semi-hilarious cartoon slide show at The Roots Factory in Logan Heights. See the awesome video trailer! There will be a solo show of my art, and live music by Puente and spinning beats by DJ Boxy Dee, plus live screen printing of some of my tshirt designs by the Roots Factory crew.

All the while I will be reporting in to KPFK’s Pocho Hour of Power radio show, Friday at 4pm, and blogging for NBC Latino. Unless I am captured by Stormtroopers. Stay tooned here for nerdarrific pics from Comic-Con!

To be there would make me happy, but I’m 1,000 miles away. Wishing you continued success.

  2. Joel Mielke says:

Unfortunately, I’m a thousand miles away as well (and I’m still in California). Have a great time!
