CNN Reports on the upcoming “Racist Bake Sale” by a racist GOP student group protesting “Diversity” at UC Berkeley, my alma mater. Sadly, some things never change. I did an editorial cartoon on the same subject, which happened at UCLA in 2003.

Affirmative Action Bake Sale Cartoon by Lalo Alcaraz
Things are getting worse not better. One would think that college students would be more sensitive if not more intelligent than the status quo. Those that do not learn from history are condemned to repeat it.
Wish I could say it’s just students, but humans in general tend to repeat stupidity…
[...] few minutes later I added a link to the cartoon Lalo Alcaraz (above) published after the UCLA Bruin Republicans held a pay by race bake sale in 2003. I’m [...]
protesting affirmative action is “racist”? the left is shooting blanks. not even the “r” word works anymore.
Poor danh, you just don’t get it. Sad, but you’ve got lots of company
I’m with danh (and I’m a left-winger). I don’t see how protesting affirmative action makes you racist. Is it racist to think that everyone should be judged on the content of their character and not the color of their skin?
[...] wealth has declined among Hispanics by 66%, while the median wealth of whites has declined by 18%. Lalo Alcaraz adds his take to the bake sale. Given that the University of California has had record low [...]
I never quite understood what those people were doing at Berkeley anyway. One would think they’d avoid the area altogether.
by “those people” I meant conservatives (white, purple, or any other color).
I am doing a project for civics class and when I read this article I understood it. By making the SB 135 law the government is saying that its ok for educational systems are alowed to consider race and gender in the school boards. Well if the schools are alowed to do this (where they are taught not to) then they are saying its ok for everyone to do it. They are protesting this law showing how stupid it is.
I agree with the conservative bake sale.If you’re going to have an affirmative action program like this, why not offer opportunities to underprivileged children of all races, since it seems the problem is not being black, or latino but being poor.
